Susan Shaheen is a professor in Civil and Environmental Engineering at UC Berkeley. She is a pioneer in innovative mobility strategies. She was among the first to research and write about the changing dynamics in shared mobility and likely scenarios through which automated vehicles might gain prominence. She also focuses on electrification/alternative fuels, advanced air mobility, behavioral dynamics, and public policy as it relates to sustainable transportation and social equity.

Fantastic 2024 Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting (#TRBAM) in Washington, D.C. last week. I really enjoyed catching up with colleagues, friends, and seeing my students present their research. Among many highlights was the Chair's Session on Wednesday afternoon. Here's a picture from the audience and on stage with the Secretary of Transportation. So grateful to be a part of a tremendous community of transportation and sustainability professionals.
It is always wonderful spending time with friends and colleagues at the Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting in Washington, DC last week. In these pictures, we (Karl Simon, Carlos Braceros, and I) are awaiting the U.S. Secretary of Transportation to join the stage at the Chair's Session on Wednesday.
