We have new Tbus in Prague! This is Škoda 36Tr (bussines name Škoda T'City 12) emanating from the Temsa Avenue bodywork. This trolleybus is rent to Prague till the ordered trolleybuses SOR TNS 18 are delivered to Prague. Their delivery is delayed due to a lack of parts.

So this and many other weekends will T'City operate on line 58 form Letňany to Čakovice and back.

I haven't been here for a while but something is always happening in Prague. So one thing of many.

On March 6, the new T3R.PLF tram went into operation. Well, new - since 2006 we have 35 of them. But new cars come with minor changes.

Tram have new panels with line number and final stop, single-arm wiper (all T3s have two-arm wipers which is not good for drivers). There are much more new features, but I will return to them sometime when I can properly look into the tram in person.

In Prague we are looking forward to new trams. The public tender for the supply of 40 trams is slowly closing. If everything goes well, the city wants to purchase up to 200 new trams for 15 billion crowns (cca 630 MEUR).

Unofficially now we know, that Skoda Transportation, Alstom, Siemens, Stadler and Pesa are in the tender process.

Visualization how Pesa could look in Prague.

Trams in Prague operate continuously. 24 hours per every day. But during the night hours (cca 00-05) traffic changes. In Prague runs only solo T3 trams on 9 regular night lines.

All 9 night lines meets at stop Lazarská in city centre where is central transfer point. Every 15 minutes trams depart from here in almost all directions. Why almost? Trams leaves Lazarská every 15 minutes, but interval on night lines is 30 minutes. So only half of the directions are met at once.

@MarkBrigham I like watching videos about transportation in USA and I can't understand it. Its amazing in how horrible it is. Take a car just to have dinner at not far away restaurat.

And here in Prague we hate how much cars in the city we have despite really good public transportation.

@RichSPK of course we can call it a historical tram. But we have historical lines and one also historical line 23 operated by Tatra trams which we call nostalgic or retro. And trams that can operate on 23 we sometimes call retro trams.

Whats new in Prague? On second of February at 2:02 pm was officialy introduced new retro tram Tatra K2. Finally we can see it without black mask and tomorrow will operate on historical line number 42.

Driver training and final preparations for its operation are now underway. But what is interesting is that black mask on front and back. It is most likely because Prague transport company (DPP) doesn't want photos to be taken before the official introduction to the public.

What are we looking forward to in Prague now? This special tram! It is Tatra K2 made in 1977 and delivered to Bratislava where it was used as a training vehicle. After that, the tram was usused for several years and in 2021 it was bought by Prague. During 2022, it was reconstructed to its original look in Brno and in December 2022 tram was moved to Prague.

Before I start writing wise posts about Prague transport, I have one anniversary here, which just happened to be today. Today it is exactly 3 years since I passed the final exams to become a tram driver.

The photo was taken by my friend nearly a month after exams between stops Vychovatelna and Okrouhlická. I was driving set of Tatra T3R.P trams.
