For anyone who still doesn't understand just how little safety oversight we have over motor vehicles in the US, I present to you Exhibit A: the Variable Messaging Digital Billboard Box Truck.
People, it flashes and scrolls. Just like a billboard. Except it's a truck.

@DrTCombs At least it is a truck. Have you not seen the rolling billboard that don’t even pretend to be for cargo?
@linnefaulk I've seen them (and yes OMG at least try and be useful while also taking up space), but I have not seen them in light up, scrolling version. That might end me.
@DrTCombs Common sense says these should be illegal. Drivers already have too many distractions.

@DrTCombs I guess I see a reasonable use case to drive to parking lots of big events where people are walking to a from their car and possibly tailgating, but not everyday use.
