Ride Report has a brand-new report out on the results of Denver's pioneering incentive program.

These top-level insights leave little doubt that this program is a blockbuster success. ridereport.com/blog/ebike-inve

@bikepedantic now if the revenues could be spent on cycling infrastructure, it could cause an upward spiral.

@Marrekoo US bicycling infrastructure is not held back by any scarcity of funding

@bikepedantic @Marrekoo I think you're saying the same thing

The funding is accessible but it's not being spent on cycling infrastructure

for example here in Richmond Indiana the city council just decided to allocate the last of our covid relief funds to law enforcement overtime

We didn't have any protests what we had was a cop funeral that they spent weeks organizing

@bikepedantic a lot of ebikes have been purchased but the usage here is lagging because of crap infrastructure. I know one elected official in Denver who has already sold their ebike because of several close calls crossing a major road near their house. The Denver climate fund needs to start funding infrastructure to support using the ebikes.
