Anyway, I misunderstood exactly who the ‘insured’ person on a life insurance policy is, and yada yada yada, any options where I’d be going SAHD are off the table.
@bikepedantic This sounds familiar: I thought Dad having a life insurance policy in my name was supposed to help me when he died and actually he was just hoping to cash in on my (increasingly likely as a bike messenger) premature death

@bikepedantic Are there any survivor benefits through social security? I was able to stay home until my youngest was 16 years old.
I thought that my financial security was ‘insured’ by this policy, but it wasn’t ‘ensured’ apparently.
Anyway, we’ll still be OK. unclear why my wife didn’t murder the insured party, though.
