In many ways, it feels like there is a national depression in the US, and i'm not talking about an economic depression.
So much unprecedented and continued mass death has sapped an unprecedented proportion of the population of the energy to function.
Going far beyond mental health, I wish we could acknowledge this national depression, and include fixing it as a valid policy goal for all facets of society.
Like most of what i say, this is self-serving.
Among the lesser-discussed co-benefits of walking and bicycling is that it makes people happier and improves brain function. That is and always will be good and true, but feels like it should be recognized as an urgent need right now.
