In many ways, it feels like there is a national depression in the US, and i'm not talking about an economic depression.
So much unprecedented and continued mass death has sapped an unprecedented proportion of the population of the energy to function.
Going far beyond mental health, I wish we could acknowledge this national depression, and include fixing it as a valid policy goal for all facets of society.
110% willing to acknowledge my own multiple biases here, though.
But all our unprecedented problems and lack of solutions just seem explained pretty easily be everyone being very justifiably depressed.
