One quirk of the Cambridge, MA automobile fleet is the disproportionate share of the odd-duck Mazda 5s and MPVs i see around. Love these oddball hyper-practical boxes.

@bikepedantic reminds me of the mid 90s 3 door Honda civic, the coolest car of all time

@bikepedantic and so many Honda Fits (Jazz to the foreigners). Even as Honda is discontinuing them in the US. ☹️

@bikepedantic I think there's also a weirdly high percentage of Honda Elements (which were discontinued in 2011) but maybe I just notice them because it's what I drive. They're so practical!

@bikepedantic

If car, AT LEAST let it be a practical one. To much space is wasted on vehicles that only can carry an ego or lack of self esteem and little else…

@bikepedantic Speaking of, I wasn't even aware Mazda did fullsized wagons until this year (it is not a brand I keep tabs on) but this year they seem to be THE brand for new wagons (Mazda 6) in Sweden while the brand for smaller cars and SUVs is KIA this year.

Last year every new car (it seemed) was a Mercedes.

@bikepedantic I wanted one of these so badly when my wife and I were car shopping around 2013. She wanted the CX-5, which got great mileage. About a year later we both had major regrets of not buying the weird little 5.

@Mattmeurer this was my wife and I circa 2017, the Ford Escape we bought vs the Volkswagen golf wagon that I wanted

@bikepedantic we have two cars because of youth sports, have been able to fit a remarkable amount of stuff into my VW Alltrack + roofbag as needed. Her hybrid Sienna is a lot more comfortable and gets the same mileage on highway trips 🤩
