Paving streets with asphalt and sidewalks with concrete is really kind of backwards.
I wish we've give drivers the pockety-pockety ride, give pedestrians a smooth more-pliable surface, and give everyone a lot more of a light-colored surface to reflect heat.
@bikepedantic I don’t like riding on concrete sidewalks but they do last longer than asphalt (at least in Florida) and they never get replaced.
