@bikepedantic hoping the new MUTCD puts a stop to that nonsense. My friend and I made an emergency stop there once when a person driving pulled out without looking, my blind stoker nearly fell off and we wore the tread off the new back tire to thread. If it wasn't for that tandem's mtn bike brakes, we would have crashed
