FYI: There’s a circle of hell where one is forced to listen to an infinity of awkward scripted condolences from customer service reps.

Also, there's an Elaine-Benes style calculation that you must do, to decide if something is cert-worthy. You'll never have enough official death certificates, and seemingly everyone 'needs' one. Do I REALLY need MY name on the T-mobile family account right now?

Do you know the only place that makes death kind of administratively easy? The Social Security Administration (at least in my experience).

@bikepedantic i just changed my first name and I've been through 4 years of admin and customer service black holes. I can't imagine how bad it is for someone who may go through a death in the family, divorce, sex-change/deadname or anything with actual gravity to it. I was going by my middle name mind you. Not like I made up a new name or changed religions or something.

@bikepedantic unsurprising to me: one of the few places where being responsive to changes in such status is important to saving _them_ money.
