It's 2023, how are we not yet at the point where execs know not to refer to the workplace as a 'family'?
@bikepedantic The VP for my team knows. His direct report that leads my team however has missed that memo on multiple occasions.
Any of my kids might be inclined to shiv a stranger trying to pick them up from school without extended negotiations leading up to that act.
@bikepedantic yikes, years ago, one of my less than outstanding managers said we spent more time with each other than with our own families, managing to be both wrong and weird at the same time
"I got a lot of work to do, any chance you could pick up my kid from school?" is not a thing i will ever ask a member of my work family to do.
