#WinterCycling Advent calendar, day 6:
** Cycling-specific clothing **
If you're new to winter riding, you may think: A winter cycling jacket? cycling gloves? special shoes? Those all are super expensive! The good news: for most items, you don't need to buy bike-specific. Try things already in your wardrobe! Check ski, outdoor work, or army surplus items. Get cheap wool items from the thrift store. Combine layers. Winter biking doesn't have to be expensive.

@haraldkliems though not in a very cold area, something I like about having an ebike is that dressing is even easier because you don't need to calculate whether you'll overheat going up a hill and have to take layers off, or dress slightly cold at the start of a ride. I don't think I own any cycle-specific clothing, just clothes (including some handy climbing jackets).

@jroper I'll cover over/underdressing soon, but I appreciate the note that riding an e-bike changes things! I don't have winter e-bike experience
