All I want for #Christmas is for the #transport professions to recognize that "#traffic" is a made-up term used to justify sacrificing the welfare of some people for the convenience of others.

@DrTCombs we have this same problem. there's a section of sidewalk that's been entirely closed for construction and the "solution" is to make people walk onto the street. It's not accessible, and what's even worse this this construction has been paused for over a year with no sign of ever resuming.

A recent example: a landscape crew piles brush, completely blocking of sidewalk along a major commercial corridor, reported to the town as a safety concern...re-classed an entire day later as "yard waste."
Nearly every time someone reports a blocked bike lane or sidewalk--forcing people into dangerous situations--as a safety issue it gets re-classed to a less urgent category, and dealt with days later
Because it's not blocking "traffic."
