I tend to avoid , but not this year.
In 2024, I resolve to push back every single time someone uses the term , or .

It's a transportation catchall for "humans not safely ensconsed inside a motor vehicle," and it's lazy, inaccurate, offensive, and counterproductive.

@benfulton human? pedestrian? child? person on a bike? outdoor diner?

we're not a monolith just because we're not currently in a car, but the term suggests otherwise.

@Streetsweeper and yet there it is, in SO MANY policies, reports, research studies...
