The kids are alright...despite the adults who eff with them every day.
This morning, we encountered an aggressive school bus, a muskmobile in "fsd", someone putting on mascara while driving a roadtank, and this person, who has shown us time and again that she has no clue how to operate in a world where kids ride bikes:

@DrTCombs My biking kids are also OK. The most dangerous transportation thing that happened to them lately was that my 16 yo got T-Boned while riding in a car by another student driver who failed to stop or yield on a right turn.
Car was dented, she was OK.
The school is 5 miles from our hose, but there is not great bike infra all the way there.
A lot of the dangercomes from al the cars, of which there would be fewer if there was better bike infra...

@DrTCombs It looks like an attitude problem or just bad judgment by that driver. If there would have been a car from the left taking a right turn it would have been a tricky situation and you could easily have been the victims in that case.
I guess this driver would have acted differently if the two of you were in a slow driving car.
We (thankfully) rarely have serious run-ins, but the little ones like this really add up.
