Contrary to speculation, looks like Trek is going to try to make its Fetch cargobikes happen in the USA starting in April https://www.theverge.com/2023/2/16/23601506/trek-fetch-ebike-cargo-families-photos-price-specs
@bikepedantic good find.
surprisingly ugly, messy. Looks thrown together. Better be cheap.
@bikepedantic @getalifemike ElecTrek sounds like a mash up of Electra and Trek bikes
@rbellinger I assume Bafang
@getalifemike @bikepedantic How is the lack of a throttle "extreme" ?
@bikepedantic Their old long tail cargo bike was pretty meh. I hope they learned some lessons and this is actually good. I generally hear good things about their non-cargo e-bikes.
@rbellinger and it's ironic, because their first cargobike, the Transport, reportedly offered no child-carrying accessories because Trek was afraid of liability
[there's no bad reason to own any bike]
@twopirc only seeing front panniers. dumbasses.
@bikepedantic I’ve heard specialized’s cargo bike is coming soon and includes a throttle. Bosch is too extreme in their “pedal assist only” stance.
