Chatting with a trusted transpo contractor friend earlier. They ran down their list of really (REALLY!) exciting projects. Then...

"We're working on some potentially transformational one-way to two-way street conversions..."

Long-delayed thread that shoulda been a blog on one-ways coming monday

@bikepedantic look forward to it, esp. since I think I agree with you but I know a bunch of people in my office are also excited about such conversions....

@bikepedantic some people think they slow down traffic. I don’t see it. Looking forward to reading

@bikepedantic @sweetenthestreets come to Georgetown. The two way streets are really only wide enough for one way traffic. Really does slow down stuff there. (Plus no centerlines)

@fchippy yield streets like those only intended to carry local(ish) traffic are a different deal altogether. The in-vogue two-way conversions that i dislike are more about arterials in dense contexts @sweetenthestreets

@bikepedantic i was waiting for the [freeze frame] narration: "yep that's me, you're wondering how I ended up in this situation."

Gosh i'm too online now. :|
