There's a petition going around supporting proposed amendments to Cambridge MA's Affordable Housing Overlay zoning, that will have the practical effect of taking some decisions of whether or not to build affordable housing that we need out of the hands of an awful appointed board. I posted a more sanitized version of this plea on Nextdoor, not to stir the pot, but because Nextdoor is becoming the online version of a civic association, and I don't think we should cede that ground without a fight.

@bikepedantic we’re having a fun Nextdoor discussion of allowing “gentle density” in the zoning code and one dude was like “well, why don’t those zealots mention those golf course homes” and I replied “actually, that sounds great! Let me know how to do it”
@bikepedantic I don't think I can accurately put into words how much I disagree with you. On the flip side, it is Nextdoor's fault that I got into local politics out here in the first place, so *shrug*
