Thank god, we somehow made it through the spring break patchwork week of childcare.

I said it before, I’ll say it again, with extra emphasis now that I’m a single parent: I could easily go car-free if we sorted out childcare in a way that doesn’t demand that every family design your own childcare program to cover aftercare, random off-days, random whole weeks, and oh one entire f*cking season.

In the meantime, I’ll be flushing thousands of dollars a year to maintain the ability to drive to and through freakin Waltham if necessary

@bikepedantic To be fair, having an alternative that doesn't 100% replace the car is way better than not having any alternatives ever

1/3rd as many car trips is 66% less car on the road per user

@bikepedantic Waltham just refuses to install bike infra. Like Woburn.

They are working on a new path that’ll be open in June, but it doesn’t connect into Belmont yet so it won’t be too useful

@sofio @bikepedantic that's more of a Belmont problem, and maybe some of a Duffy brothers problem, and a little bit an MBTA problem (they recently sold some ROW that would have been darn useful for a bike path).
