DYK that Velo Orange sells a set of chrome fenders (20” front, 26” rear), that they’re back in stock, and yes, I’ve ordered a set for my UA velo-orange.com/products/26-65

@bikepedantic Shiny!

My old Cetma has some metal (🤘) Wald fenders that I had to cut and bend to get to fit. I like the shiny look, but they also look almost homemade and janky. I've meant to replace them with black ones, but the new (to me) cetma came with black plastic fenders and I think they look (and feel, the way they rattle around) like garbage. :(

@bikepedantic It's amazing that they now sell a 20+26 metal set.

The Future.

@Andres4NY getting the rear wheel off for anything is a nightmare hellscape - rear entry dropouts with tugnuts and a floating disk brake mount, disconnecting/reconnecting the Enviolo, plus the intrinsic difficulty of getting Velo orange fenders mounted just right

@bikepedantic I've been immersed in the Enviolo world so long that it doesn't phase me, but I remember it being a pain at first.

Disc brakes are still routinely a PITA for me with their rotor scraping, but it's not like rim brakes were any better. Maybe someday we'll have brake tech that doesn't need to be calibrated with every wheel removal..
