‘Tis the season to take care of your awesome local bike shop if you’ve got one. Mine (Bicycle Belle) had a desperately needed extra Urban Arrow kickstand just sitting around, and sold it to me for a reasonable price, and gave me a couple of installation tips.

They also sold me a set of brake pads to replace these fallen soldiers. Swapping brake pads: 10 minutes. Finding the hydraulic reservoir bolt head after I dropped it in my gravel driveway: 45 minutes.

@LhasaCM I also desperately need reading glasses. I can’t believe I found it…

I always do work like that in a clear spot in my bike workshop so that anything I drop can roll or bounce in any direction & hide under bikes, tools, the car, the trashcans, my stool, whatever creative hiding place it can think of. One managed to get on the shelf below my seat. I rolled that stool all around to look under it. Sometimes I give up & find a replacement in my scavenged parts bins, & find the escapee weeks later across the garage.
Gravel is your friend. So's a magnet.
