Imagine how amazing a space this could be if we converted our private backyards (looking out from my house) into a public park

Alternatively, let’s go shock-and-awe in the BZA and everyone build an extra house in their backyard like these heroes four doors down

@bikepedantic I watched a youtube video about converting suburbs to villages and that was basically *the* feature: tear down backyard fences and create a commons on every block

@bikepedantic Alternate parks and back houses so every house has access to a double yard sized park, or do a pattern of 2 and 2 so we get quad yard parks!

@bikepedantic Here's a similar example: bouldercolorado.gov/sites/defa

Unfortunately the common space isn't a fully public park, and the houses now are extremely expensive.

@bikepedantic I would love to take out 1-2m from both sides of the fence separating the standard double backyards in most suburbs and install small public active trails with small pocket parks intermixed. I live near too many NIMBYs to ever make that happen though.

@bikepedantic I keep looking at our backyard and the neighbors and think a small sidewalk uphill with no cars would be nice
