If you ride your bike no-hands on a trail near other people, I don’t fight for you. If you do that near my kid, I fight you.

@bikepedantic In a similar vein, I saw a guy wearing a TT helmet and riding in the aero bars of his triathlon bike down the Hudson River Greenway near Stuyvesant
High School weaving his way though thick weekend pedestrian traffic. Of course, Mr. Aeroman had super hairy unshaven legs. Thankfully, he was pretty slow.

@bikepedantic I am uncomfortable riding near pedestrians in any situation where I wouldn't be able to crash myself into a ditch rather than hit them

I can understand that might be on somewhat further end of the spectrum, but no hands on a busy shared path is so far in the wrong direction.

And kids are in the category of "unpredictable and I can't blame them for it" that makes me happy I am comfortable at a walking pace for some passes

@max_in_somer @bikepedantic this. If you’re near pedestrians, passing is a privilege. The brake handle is right there for a reason.
