Things I learned in my 40s now include:

*when you order a new oven, it won’t include several components necessary for making it operate, such as a power cord or a strain-relief collar for that power cord you end up separately ordering

*I miss my 30s

Anyway, I sure would like to be able to cook a meal sometime soon

I now have a functioning induction stove, and can be insufferable about having an induction stove.

@bikepedantic I love it, and welcome to the insufferable induction club. I did a Bosch range two years ago and will never go back. My main motivation at the time was spite for the gas company, and secondary was indoor air quality, which has gotten dramatically better with induction, alongside all the other benefits. I had to upgrade a power line to 220v, but would do it again in a heartbeat. It, and my heat pump water heater, allowed me to cut off gas to the house entirely.

@Will later this year, i'll get back to work on getting four-season heat pumps, and then our only gas will be hot water heat (both our units have very newish on-demand gas hot water, will wait for those to die before converting)
