Misspelled “bike lane ends.” This sign should warn, not invite.

Again, you’re not inviting me to a birthday party, you’re supposed to be warning me that the “bike lane ends.” Say that instead.

@bikepedantic indeed.
- For cyclists: “bike lane ends”
- For drivers: “bikes use full lane”

@bikepedantic my city's map of bike lanes has some roadway segments marked "bike route". When I first saw that, I thought it was inviting. But it really means that there's no bike lanes there, yet cyclists often use it. It's the opposite of "inviting" and should be a red flag.

@bikepedantic I always thought it should just say "Bikes Use Full Lane"

then you are both telling riders what to do and clear with drivers what riders are supposed to do

@DemonHusky @bikepedantic I have a giant sharpie in my bag and I’ve almost changed “may” to will” on these signs.

@bikepedantic I'm particularly amused at how easy it would be to crash into that sign on my bike if I was looking over my shoulder to merge into car traffic

@bikepedantic i die a little inside whenever I see “bikes may use full lane” because bikes may always use the full lane by law.
