Forget twitter v mastodon, my new obsession is nextdoor. I am having Too Much Fun Today.

On Saturday at an Earth Day event I test-rode the REI Co-op Cycles Generation e1.1 bike. It was super zippy & tons of fun. I didn't even need the assist to get up the hill. It's currently 30% off, just $1200.

My neighbors are using our driveway to teach their kid to ride a bike, the peels of kid laughter tell me that this is definitely the highest and best use of a driveway

My Dadbod brings all the moms to the yard and they're like "We've received complaints," and I'm like ”Sorry I'll put my shirt back on."

dunking on dumb twitter

logged into twitter, and the main menu bar has a new tacked-on option selling a "verified organization" option for $1,000.00 per month, plus each additional affiliated account is $50.00 per handle per month.

It all just seems so amateurish and slapdash that only amateur orgs pay. "Move fast and break stuff" breaks trust and goodwill. What serious org would publicly get on board with something so slapdash?

Very illuminating look at office-to-residential conversions. Particularly found Gensler architecture scorecard for evaluating conversion potential very interesting. thehustle.co/the-developers-wh

Any fun camberville bike stuff this weekend? Everything seems to be next weekend, when I’m booked with other stuff

Thrilled to see DPW quickly replace the street tree that some dumbass driver cracked in half on my street, and doubly thrilled to see that it’s a yoshino cherry

In the meantime, I’ll be flushing thousands of dollars a year to maintain the ability to drive to and through freakin Waltham if necessary

I said it before, I’ll say it again, with extra emphasis now that I’m a single parent: I could easily go car-free if we sorted out childcare in a way that doesn’t demand that every family design your own childcare program to cover aftercare, random off-days, random whole weeks, and oh one entire f*cking season.

Thank god, we somehow made it through the spring break patchwork week of childcare.

#Boston #MA peeps: I am participating in a stage 1 #HIV #vaccine study that needs more subjects. Please consider volunteering.
The #AIDS epidemic never ended: over 1/2 half million people die of AIDS annually. Scientists are working on a vaccine, but HIV is a wicked talented virus.
This study won't give you HIV and won't make you immune either. What it WILL do is move the needle toward a vaccine.
Email vaccines@partners.org for more info (no commitment). Tell them I sent you!
Please boost! 1/2

Oh, and maybe the dinky trail along Amazon's 12th St S frontage that the Metroway "BRT" denies existing will get a respite.
