Just as the embarrassing fad/scam of NFTs has wound down, the Bowser administration decides it's time to jump in. (Via @davestroup. It took a month for people to really notice the tweet.) #DCGovernment #DCPolitics
[Please note: If you are thinking "this clown sounds like Greg Abbott," i'm definitely not trying to gaslight away the urgent need for gun control. Just that there's an excess of suffering, and no solutions]
110% willing to acknowledge my own multiple biases here, though.
But all our unprecedented problems and lack of solutions just seem explained pretty easily be everyone being very justifiably depressed.
Like most of what i say, this is self-serving.
Among the lesser-discussed co-benefits of walking and bicycling is that it makes people happier and improves brain function. That is and always will be good and true, but feels like it should be recognized as an urgent need right now.
In many ways, it feels like there is a national depression in the US, and i'm not talking about an economic depression.
So much unprecedented and continued mass death has sapped an unprecedented proportion of the population of the energy to function.
Going far beyond mental health, I wish we could acknowledge this national depression, and include fixing it as a valid policy goal for all facets of society.

Streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney Plus, and HBO Max are understandably nervous about letting people make copies of their copyrighted stuff — but just as understandably, fans want photos and clips of their favorite scenes. Here’s how to get that screenshot you’re trying for.

The petrol engine looks doomed, but should we ban the SUV instead? Radical change is coming to the car industry, but we need to rethink what we're driving
I know I’m a day late, but welcome back WMATA’s Yellow Line!!
(side note, not important but I wish it was easier to take photos of the destination signs)
