Taking a week to sail to Europe (from the US) would require and encourage less frequent, longer intercontinental travel, not frequent 2-week holidays; but slow travel has many benefits.

I read someone once who had a rule of spending 1 day at the destination for every hour in the air; a starting point at least for changing habits.
