Paris today: the appropriate width for a one-way bike lane, and where to put the parking if you don't want bikes on the footpath. Not like anything we're building in Sydney!
I live in Newton, MA, a prosperous, educated, liberal suburb of Boston
and we hae a lot of bike parking areas
and EVERY SINGLE ONE is on grass: they take away grass to make bike parking
they never ever take even a single square inch of asphalt (and lord knows, we have enough asphalt)
