[and of course, will the USA ever get a real EV station wagon?]
@bikepedantic Nope. I miss my wagons, but my next ride will be a crossover. Not willing to lay out the $$$ for a BMW or Audi, and Volvo has stopped importing them.
@bikepedantic Part of the problem in the US is that the only people who buy wagons are practical, and practical people typically don't buy new cars. Volvo does sell a plug-in hybrid V60 wagon, but it's expensive.
@bikepedantic I would LOVE to drive a Volvo wagon EV conversion!
Garage dreams…
@bikepedantic
The real stationwaggon.
@bikepedantic the ioniq 5 is the closest thing we have IMHO and I love mine, lower to the ground and more car like than other hatchback EVs. If the trunk was a tad longer it would be there. The Volvo one someone else mentioned. Gives me 80s ford Taurus station wagon vibes but like 100x what my mom paid for hers
@femmeUTCD I had no idea you had an Ioniq 5, and yes, it is absolutely the closest and would be the EV I’d buy rn if I had to, not even close
@bikepedantic yeah I had to say goodbye to my beloved 13 year old Volvo s40 last summer. It was leaking water somewhere and causing mold and thus making me sick
