$190K off-street parking spot (plus $2k per year taxes & HOA) just dropped in Harvard Square, Cambridge https://redf.in/gdJDOO
@bikepedantic but significantly less taxes if you make it your primary residence!
@bikepedantic And it's not even covered, tsk.
@bikepedantic I feel like the property taxes for this should be insanely higher than listed. $2k yearly taxes for an in-city parking spot surrounded by mass transit? In the midst of a housing crisis no less?
Tax the absolute hell out of parking.
@bikepedantic wow that's insane!
@bikepedantic I'm not too familiar with Boston/Cambridge so I figured I'd run the numbers. At $1300 month and expecting usage 22 days (assuming only used on business days), you'd need to charge roughly $60 for an 8 hour stay, or around $8-10 an hour. It looks like only 30min meters directly nearby costing $1.50 or a surface lot with a 2-hour max for $3/hour. Only a mile away is the Green St Garage, which only costs $19 for 8 hours, or $30 for 24 hours. Municipal is crazy cheap comparatively!
@bikepedantic Based on how parking is assessed in Cambridge, I'm sure the tax bill will be minimal.
Dang. Pity it doesn't come with van/rv hookups or someone might be able to use it to survive.
@bikepedantic that lot should absolutely be a multi story building
@bikepedantic Only a short distance to the Red Line!
@bikepedantic HOA of $1,140/mo or /yr? It says both!
@bikepedantic You can get a matching parking space here in Provincetown for a mere $195k: https://www.trulia.com/home/10-Law-St-P8-Provincetown-MA-02657-108611155
@bikepedantic
I think that's $2k per *month* taxes and HOA
That’s a scorching $1300 per month (with 20% down!).
And how much do we charge at the meters again? Or for a residential permit? Or a curb cut for a driveway?
