Seeing people walking in the wonderfully-cleared Mass Ave PBL is not a great argument for more PBLs... it's a great argument for municipal sidewalk clearance program.

A note to Gen Xers, if we don't stop this slide into fascism our kids and grand kids will without a doubt have to fight in a real, modern shooting war. Modern warfare is a human meat grinder.
The stakes could not be higher and we're failing.

we should acknowledge that like 50% of the appeal of the R&M Load 75 is that it looks objectively badass

When you maintain facilities for walking/biking/rolling, you help us to refute the US conventional wisdom of what’s possible and popular to do without a car.

Thank you, City of Cambridge (not yet on masto), for clearing the Linear Trail.

Saw a screen cap of a pretty mundane toot on twitter. Little microtoots of progress.

Our very curly-haired 6-yr-old daughter opted for a very short haircut, and the fifteen minutes immediately sheared off the morning get-out-the-door routine is priceless

I posted a more sanitized version of this plea on Nextdoor, not to stir the pot, but because Nextdoor is becoming the online version of a civic association, and I don't think we should cede that ground without a fight.

Anyway, the algo is nimbying my post, so if you wanna click thru and give it a like or cup of sugar or whatever you do on nextdoor, please do. nextdoor.com/p/xJ9KJLshrfwZ?ut

There's a petition going around supporting proposed amendments to Cambridge MA's Affordable Housing Overlay zoning, that will have the practical effect of taking some decisions of whether or not to build affordable housing that we need out of the hands of an awful appointed board. Mild temperatures this winter will prevent the Rideau Canal Skateway from opening for the first time in its 53-year history.

A July 2021 risk assessment on the effects of #ClimateChange on the #RideauCanal Skateway warned that in the next decades, the skating season would be less than 40 days approximately 50 per cent of the time.
