i wish that every American who wants to ride a bike without constant fear could live in Cambridge with me. It's def not perfect, but it's not too far from it.

I have an unanticipated evening by myself tomorrow, and I am almost giddy.

Each year, the night before the Boston Marathon, hundreds of cyclists meet at the race's starting line in Hopkinton for an unofficial, unsanctioned event: a midnight ride along the marathon’s 26.2 mile route. Here's my @gbhnews story on the tradition. wgbh.org/news/local-news/2023/ For the audio version (red "play" button at the top) I biked more than I have in a single trip since high school, including Heartbreak Hill.

big shoutout to all the camberville moms who have gone so far beyond in helping out this widow dad

Not that anyone asked, but i'm highly skeptical that any of 'em stay off twitter for more than a few weeks.

Hopefully, it soon joins crosstown-colleagues @gbhnews on the 'don

Quick reminder for anyone interested in the whole twitter exit:

Someone established an instance especially for public media people and entities. Check it out, and tell your NPR friends to maybe kick the tires on it.

TIL that if your partner dies, the Federal Government caps how much of your accrued sick leave you can use to grieve (or take care of a young child, or fight that same Federal Government over life insurance payouts), at 104 hours.

A Tribe Called Quest - “I Left My Wallet In El Segundo”

It’s the first of three singles from the album “People's Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm”. Released one day after the LP.

The other two singles were “Bonita Applebaum” (July 5th) and “Can I Kick It?” (Oct 29th).

This song is classic Tribe, in that Q-Tip tells a fun, light hearted story with fat beats and a cool video.

Hey, DC: anyone know a lawyer experienced in dealing with the morass of OPM/government HR? Specifically, an HR flub endangering a payout of FEGLI life insurance?

What to do with DC camera-fine revenue, and enforce traffic code with equity?

No, don't prop up the general fund like MMB wants to. Then it's no longer about deterrence.

No, don't put it in the DDOT capital budget like CM Allen wants to. Especially in DC, there's no shortage of transpo cash.

Give it to the disproportionately black and low-income families directly impacted by traffic violence, via a victim's assistance fund.
